Somerset boxlid
Found in Somerset, Co. Galway, this box lid shows the swirling spirals of classic Celtic Art. The box is special for us because it contained broken gold and silver artifacts, and some tools, suggesting it belonged to a fellow silversmith 2000 years ago.

Turoe Stone
From the 1st.Century B.C., the function of this stone is lost in antiquity. It may well have marked a sacred place. The carvings, swirls and spirals make it a unique and beautiful piece of Celtic sculpture. The Dolans reproduce this monument in minature, and build in a secret compartment behind the mother of pearl stone in the bottom

Although considered by the Roman world to be babaric, history and archeology give evidence that the Celts developed sophisticated social, religious and legal systems, and perhaps the finest abstract art form the world has seen. La Tene, where many of these items were found, gives its name to the style. Niall Dolan, one of the well known silversmith family, created this piece, in true La Tene style.
