Writhing vegetative and female forms were based on naturalistic images of plants and figures, rather than a formalized type of decoration.These designs demanded similar dedication and skill,with the same emphasis on curve and balance,as the Celtic work to which we inherited.Our works in this area are much indebted to masters sush as Rene Lalique,Alphonse Mucha and Aubrey Beardsley.
